Last week, on Monday November 14, as part of its Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review , the Ontario government officially announced it would be developing a voluntary clean energy credit (CEC) registry. Now, the Ontario government is crafting an official Clean Energy Credit system that will presumably require transparency.

In today's energy market, solar, wind, and nuclear power — which are virtually immune from overseas influence — offer lower and more price stable electricity generation. Those findings might surprise physicists, who will be aware that the energy density of nuclear fission is so high that just a fingertip of uranium has an energy equivalent of 5000 barrels of oil. This sparked a lot of concerns because it was just a few months after the March 2011 meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan. The public was thankfully not harmed by the Nebraska incident, but this was unfortunately not an isolated incident in terms of flood risks posed to the US nuclear power fleet.
