Bird Safe Philly was formed in 2020 by the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, Delaware Valley Ornithological Club, and National Audubon Society — Audubon Mid-Atlantic, Wyncote Audubon and Valley Forge Audubon. and 119 species have been documented colliding with buildings in Philadelphia since 2008.

Thomas E. Lovejoy, III (1941-2021)

On December 25 the world lost one of the great champions of conservation and a long-time friend and associate of the Academy of Natural Sciences, Tom Lovejoy. He was a highly respected member of the Academy’s Board of Trustees from 1987 to 2008, loyally coming up from Washington to attend every meeting.
