Efforts to protect public health and the environment from PFAS have been hampered by major gaps in both federal and state law and the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) unwillingness to act. The Clean Water Act has also proven ineffective because EPA does not require limits on PFAS discharges into streams or rivers.
