From August 5 to 11, DEP’s Oil and Gas Compliance Database shows oil and gas inspectors filed 555 inspection entries. So far this year-- as of August 4 -- DEP issued 3,944 formal notices of violation to conventional operators (207 more since last week) and 821 to unconventional shale gas operators (7 more this week) based on 9,353 inspections of conventional facilities and 14,682 inspections of unconventional shale gas facilities.
