Rated for 1,320 megawatts — roughly the size of a large fossil fuel plant — the dam is now capable of only 800 megawatts. Less hydropower will force utilities to look elsewhere for replacement supplies, including from fossil fuel sources. Most comes from fossil fuels, wind, and solar.
