The legislature directed DEQ to do a human health risk assessment of 1,4 dioxane in drinking water based on peer-reviewed studies and report back to the legislature by May 1, 2024. A provision in the Regulatory Reform Act of 2023 requires the EMC to study narrative water quality standards and report to the legislature by June 1, 2024.
