I got involved after the city filed reports and maps to support its claim that it was fulfilling the requirements of a historic 2017 settlement to find and replace Flint’s lead pipes. When community members found out that their drinking water had dangerously high levels of lead, they sued the city of Flint and the state of Michigan.

The Basin does not meet the state or federal ambient air quality standards for ozone and particulate matter, and existing regulations have to date proved insufficient to bring the Basin into compliance.
