Note: the estimates of 1990 emissions that I found are not entirely consistent, with one estimate closer to 1.2 Fifteen percent of electricity is renewable. Chicago just released its Draft 2022 Climate Action Plan (CAP), an update of the city’s 2008 CAP to reduce citywide emissions 25 percent by 2020 from 1990 levels. Chicago’s new CAP aims to remedy those problems and chart an equitable path to cut the city’s carbon emissions by at least 60 percent by 2040.
