EPA Finalizes Rule Requiring PFAS Testing of Public Water Systems

Sampling does not begin until the beginning of 2023 at the earliest, and it may last through the end of 2025 at some systems. It would not be surprising to see additional PFAS monitoring requirements imposed of public water systems, if and when methods for reliably detecting those chemicals gain acceptance with EPA.

New York State Environmental Regulator Issues Draft Plan to Achieve GHG Emissions-Reduction Goals

The Council is expected to release the draft scoping plan for public comment by the end of 2021, subject to a minimum 120-day comment period, with six public hearings to be scheduled across the state, though the evolving nature of the pandemic may necessitate virtual hearings. The final plan must be sent to the Legislature by Jan. 1, 2024.
