Warmer temperatures will encourage the melting of glaciers, ice fields, summer Arctic sea ice, and permafrost, some of which may be irreversible. Sea levels will continue to rise throughout the 21st century, contributing to more frequent and severe coastal flooding in low-lying areas along coasts around the world.

There may also be requirements on what technologies must be used for mitigation such as the use of catalytic converters in cars that used older lead fuel (6). We are already seeing the depletion of the ice caps and rising sea levels. Dilution of salts in our oceans can affect the ecological balance of that ocean.
