Deforestation and environmental destruction are still a reality in many countries around the world. Solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind power have become in recent years the cheapest sources of electricity and now account for 8 percent of global electricity. We need to stop deforestation of the Amazon and other tropical forests.

Deserts are also useful sources of wind power. There are always desert winds, but at certain times of the year wind is much higher which can also generate energy (34). Its continued expansion has been put down to increased carbon emissions, agricultural activity and deforestation. Leisure and Tourism.

Energy from the sun and wind never runs out and is used again and again. Rechargeable large-scale batteries can be charged with solar or wind power and cycled thousands of times in their lifetime. Nickel mines can cause deforestation and water and soil contamination, such as in Claver , Philippines. Click to learn more!
