Delaware On August 3rd, the governor signed seven pieces of climate legislation that strengthen the state’s climate targets, increase electric vehicle and renewable energy requirements, and update building codes. Maine Maine adopted legislation calling for the state to procure 3 GW of offshore wind power by 2040.

New York City Planning Commission Approves Zoning Changes Supporting City’s Climate Goals

The changes are designed to support a renewable energy grid, make buildings more energy efficient, support the use of electric vehicles, and reduce waste and stormwater runoff. Create the newly defined use “energy infrastructure equipment” (EIE), and add it to Use Groups 4, 6, and 14 (ZR 12-10, 22-14, 32-15, 32-23).

Nuclear energy giant to build France’s largest offshore wind project

Eoliennes en Mer Manche Normandie (EMMN), a company partly owned by EDF Renewables (the renewable energy arm of EDF) and Maples Power, was selected to build the “Centre Manche 1” offshore wind project. Construction is planned to begin in either 2026 or 2027.
