Since its founding in 2017, the US Climate Alliance —a coalition of states committed to meeting the goals of the Paris climate accord—has grown to 24 states and one US territory. Emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from power plants in alliance states drop 88 percent and 77 percent respectively by 2040.
