The majority of the cases have been filed by the Amazon Task Force (ATF), established in 2018 by federal public prosecutors to unite the offices working to combat illegal deforestation in Amazonia.

At this year’s conference, namely, COP 27, Brazil, Indonesia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo signed a rainforest protection pact , vowing to cooperate on sustainable development management and conservation.
