Over 156 million people in the US are exposed to unhealthy levels of air pollutants, according to the recently published 2025 State-of-the Air report from the American Lung Association (ALA). It presents air pollution data at the county-level for two pollutants, deadly fine particulate matter (PM 2.5 ) and ground-level ozone.
