New California Legislation Would Be a Major Step Forward for Climate Disclosure

A second bill would require annual reporting of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused by a covered firm’s operations. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has adopted a Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule [25] requiring facilities that emit more than 25,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent to report their direct GHG emissions.
