There are only 6 NAAQS - ozone, carbon monoxide, particulates, lead, sulfur dioxides, and nitrogen dioxides - but they dominate most air quality concerns ranging from smog to health effects, such as from particulates and lead. There remain some problem areas; for example Boston tends to be a non-attainment area for ozone in the summer.
