The WARN Act covers layoffs and plant closings at single sites of employment when 50-499 employees are laid off in any 30-day period if these employees constitute at least 33% of the workforce and the layoff results in an employment loss for more than six months (for multiple layoffs that occur in succession there is a 90-day look back period).
