Because today, virtually all hydrogen produced comes from natural gas. From a climate perspective, hydrogen’s reliance on natural gas as a source means massive emissions upstream of the truck thanks to fugitive methane emissions. Why is that? The story isn’t dramatically improved in the future, either.
