In general, environmental data are organized according to media, such as air or groundwater, analytical fraction, such as VOCs, and sampling round, such as 2014 data. For example EPA Method 8021 is for VOCs under RCRA, one list, but EPA Method 524 is for “purgeable” organic compounds in drinking water, same concept but different lists.
