The Great Backyard Bird Count starts today and runs through February 21.
Over these four days the National Audubon Society, Birds Canada, and Cornell Lab of Ornithology invite people to spend time in their favorite places watching and counting as many birds as they can find and reporting them through eBird. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations.
