Industrial decarbonization requires a comprehensive and multifaceted approach that supports an efficient and equitable clean energy transition in the industrial sector. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will hold a public workshop to outline the social, behavioral, and economic sciences and interdisciplinary research needed to develop evidence-based approaches to drive industrial decarbonization, ensure a just transition to clean energy, and foster American leadership in the next generation of clean energy technologies.
To inform the workshop, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is issuing a call for abstracts for papers that will outline key societal challenges and the role of social science in building a social compact for industrial decarbonization.
Writers will receive funding for their position papers.  Abstracts are due Friday, Dec. 1, 2023.Â
