Dunn has a rich background in environmental advocacy and will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of SCRA, focusing on the restoration and revitalization of the Shamokin Creek Watershed.
He brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship to this new role.
After graduating from Franklin & Marshall College, Dunn embarked on a 35-year career with the Senate of Pennsylvania, culminating in his retirement in 2019 as Chief of Staff to state Sen. John Gordner.
During his time with the Senate, Dunn worked extensively with state programs related to agriculture and environmental protection, thus establishing a solid foundation for his
work with SCRA.
After retiring from the Senate, Dunn worked in conservation outreach on farms in 12 central Pennsylvania counties.
In addition to his legislative background, Phil’s dedication to environmental causes is further underscored by his role as a Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward and his Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional Riparian Buffer Training Certificate.
He is also a member of One Water Partnership, a program sponsored by Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake.
This appointment is made possible through a grant from the Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds.
