Litter Lifters Of West Vincent Township Volunteers Picked Up 55 Bags Of Litter On Martin Luther King Jr. Day Of Service In Chester County

On January 15, 40 volunteers collected 55 bags of litter at an event organized by the Litter Lifters Of West Vincent Township in Chester County in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Of Service.

Volunteers worked busy roads, sleepy roads, wooded areas, cornfields and open spaces.

They picked up litter to protect wildlife; improve property values; create pride in their townships; develop partnerships with businesses and police departments; engage high school students; work alongside people young and old; got fresh air and exercise; and receive thank you's from passersby in cars.

The Litter Lifters created commUNITY.

Thank you to these partner--

-- Wawa for providing hot coffee and snacks;

-- West Vincent Township Police Chief Mike Swininger for support since 2020;

-- Officers Lyndsay Taylor and Joseph O’Keefe  from West Vincent Township and Upper Uwchlan Police Departments for providing safety detail;

-- Jim S for setting up 8 litter crew ahead signs;

-- The Litter Lifters leadership team: Pattie Richards, Dorothy Lynn, Rosalia Provini, Jim Scaperotto, Traci Frederick, Carys Egan and Beth Intoccia;
