Penn State Extension Oct. 28: Join Master Watershed Stewards In Lancaster County For Water Ways On Wheels Bike Tour

Join Penn State Extension
Master Watershed Stewards for an exciting and informative bike tour of the breathtaking watersheds of the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail as part of the Water Ways On Wheels Bike Tour October 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m

This exclusive tour will provide a unique opportunity to explore and learn about the various watershed features, trail history, and geologic history that make this area so special.

The tour is an out-and-back bike ride from the East Donegal Township Riverfront Park to the Fishermans Wharf Trail access at the northern terminus in Falmouth.

The trail is 100% paved, and the total mileage is approximately 15 miles, including stops along the way and a water break.

The tour is expected to run about 2.5 to 3 hours. Helmets are required, and any type of bike, whether road, mountain, or gravel, will work fine.

We will meet at the East Donegal Township Riverfront Park and ride to the Fishermans Wharf Trail access.

We will discuss the watershed features we saw along the way and some of the area's history and geologic features.

Upon our return to the East Donegal Riverfront Park, we will enjoy some of Lancaster County's finest snack items and summarize what we learned.
