Experts from the CDC and NOAA will speak to a new Heat and Health Initiative developed in response to increased health risks from heat exposure. The new heat-health forecast tools and clinical guidance equip clinicians, practitioners, and the public with the information they need to stay safe when temperatures rise and during heat events.
During this session, you will
- Receive an overview of the recently released HeatRisk Forecast Tool, HeatRisk Dashboard, and clinical guidance developed to help healthcare providers speak with their patients about heat and reduce the risk of negative health impacts due to heat exposure, with special considerations for people with heart disease, children with asthma, and pregnant women
- Understand the critical roles healthcare, public health, and community partners play in the implementation and use of the guidance and associated tools
- Have an opportunity to ask questions about the recently released resources
