PA Interfaith Power & Light 10th Annual Conference- No Faith In Fossil Fuels - Nov. 5: Virtual Keynote & Panel Discussion, 5 Regional Workshop Locations

PA Interfaith Power & Light will host its 10th Annual Conference November 5 in a hybrid format-- a virtual keynote and response panel session, along with in-person workshops at each of five locations: Lancaster, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Scranton, and State College.

This year’s theme, “No Faith in Fossil Fuels,” is an opportunity to dig deep, ask hard questions, and dream together of what we want our collective future to look like.

Our keynote speaker is Sharon Lavigne of Rise St. James, a leader in the environmental justice movement and a person of faith. Sharon is the recipient of the 2021 Goldman Environmental Prize.

Rise St. James, a faith-based grassroots organization fighting for environmental justice. Its goal is to defeat the proliferation of petrochemical industries in St. James Parish, Louisiana.

Rise St James galvanized community opposition and successfully defeated the construction of a $1.25 billion plastics manufacturing plant in 2018, and has continued to be a force against fossil fuel expansion in the region known as “Cancer Alley.”
