Abstract

The interaction between plasma and sorbent has been investigated for the capture and conversion of CO2 from air. The effect of plasma on the sorbent surface can cause the desorption of CO2 along with reactions that convert it into other chemicals at the same time. In this work, four commonly used sorbents have been tested and their performance under plasma has been evaluated. Possible reactions including CO2 splitting and hydrogenation have also been explored using plasma-sorbent systems.
