If Requested, DEP Will Hold Feb. 28 Hearing On Air Quality Permit For Keystone Station Coal-Fired Power Plant In Armstrong County

The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a hearing February 28, if requested, on the RACT II Air Quality Permit and State Implementation Plan revision for the Keystone Station coal-fired power plant in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County owned by Keystone-Conemaugh Projects, LLC.  [

The hearing would be held at the DEP Northwest Regional Office, 230 Chestnut Street in Meadville, Crawford County starting at 10:30 a.m.

To register for the hearing, contact Tom Decker at 814-332-6615 by February 21.  

If DEP does not receive any pre-registered speakers by the deadline, the hearing will be canceled.

One provision included in the State Implementation Plan revision to meet federal Regional Haze Rule requirements proposes to make federally enforceable and permanent the previously identified shutdown date of December 31, 2028 for boilers 1 and 2, according to the notice.
