DEP Invites Comments, Sets Hearings On Air Quality Permits For 3 Power Plants-- Clearfield County- Shawville; Montour County- Montour; Venango County- Scrubgrass

The Department of Environmental Protection published notices in the May 11 PA Bulletin inviting comments on Air Quality Permits for three power plants.

Shawville Plant

DEP proposes to renew a Title V Air Quality Permit for the Shawville Natural Gas-fired Power Plant located in Bradford Township., Clearfield County.

If requested, a hearing will be held on June 14.

Montour Plant

DEP proposes to issue a Title V Air Quality RACT III Permit for the Montour LLC Coal-fired Power Plant located in Derry Township, Montour County.  The plant can run on natural gas in case of a shortage of coal.

If requested, a hearing will be held June 18.

Scrubgrass Station

DEP proposes to renew  a Title V Air Quality Permit for the coal waste-fired Scrubgrass Generating Station (a cryptocurrency facility) located in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.

No hearing is scheduled, but one may be requested.
