DCNR Conservation & Natural Resources Advisory Council Meets July 26 On State Forest Strategic Plan; Update From Fish & Boat Commission; Seeking New Council Members

DCNR's
Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Council is scheduled to meet on July 26 on the State Forest Strategic Plan and hear an update from the Fish and Boat Commission.  DCNR is also seeking new members to fill vacancies on the Council.

Forests For All

Council members will hear an update on the final draft of the Bureau of Forestry’s Strategic Plan, Forests for All.

The plan is the result of several years of stakeholder and staff input to determine how the Bureau will carry out its mission over the next two decades in light of significant ecological and societal change.

The last strategic plan for the Bureau was written in the 1990s. Seth Cassell, the Director of Forest Planning and Administration for the Bureau, will outline components of the plan and the process for the public to provide input.

Fish & Boat Commission

Tim Schaeffer, Executive Director of the PA Fish and Boat Commission, will join the Council in person to talk about recent efforts by the Commission to partner with DCNR on public access, invasive species mitigation, water recreation safety, and habitat improvements.
