Pettit, Sheehan Quoted in Law360 on 2022 Government Contracting Law Trends

January 5, 2022

Senior associates Tom Pettit and Christian Sheehan were quoted in articles from Law360 discussing government contracts cases and policies to watch in 2022.

In an article focused on cases for government contractors to watch this year, Pettit highlights the pending challenges to the federal contractor COVID-19 vaccine mandate. He notes that such cases are testing the limits of presidential power to regulate government contractors and placing contractors in precarious positions regarding state prohibitions on vaccine mandates. Sheehan discusses a pending certiorari petition regarding the pleading standard for False Claims Act cases, an important issue about which courts of appeals have taken different approaches over the past few years.

Sheehan was also quoted in an article related to expected government contracting policies for the coming year. In that article, he discusses proposed amendments to the FCA, including a revised materiality standard, and elaborates on how those changes might affect companies defending FCA cases.
