Penn State Center For Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training Hosts June 24 Webinar On The Pennsylvania Right To Farm Law

To help agriculture professionals just beginning their journey in agricultural conservation, the Center for Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training, administered by Penn State Extension, is holding a June 24 webinar-- Conservation Cornerstone: Pennsylvania Right to Farm Laws--  from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. 

This webinar is aimed at newer conservation district employees, agricultural conservation professionals, and individuals associated with the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program  or other conservation financial assistance programs. 

Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Farm Act of 1982 and the Agriculture, Communities and Rural Environment law of 2005, also known as ACRE or Act 38, limit municipal actions against certain farming practices, shaping the regulatory landscape for agriculture. 

Understanding these laws is key to navigating township and county ordinances affecting farm operations, organizers noted. 

Experts from Penn State Dickinson Law’s Center for Agricultural and Shale Law will provide insights into how these laws function and their impact on farming in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania State Conservation Commission, through the Clean Streams Fund, partially funds this program. 

Penn State Extension offers this event at no charge, but registration by 8:30 a.m. June 24 is required to receive the link to access the webinar. 

A link to the recorded webinar will  be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live event. Participants can access the recording for six months from the event date.
