The IPCC calls this a “robust acceleration ( high confidence ) of global mean sea level rise over the 20th century”, as did the SROCC in 2019. That we cannot turn this back is the reason why the precautionary principle should be applied to the climate crisis. We would see massive coastal erosion happening all around.
